Cannata Watching The World Rarest

Review Arise Records is a new interesting label that has re-released the 2nd Cannata album 'Watching The World' in a limited edition with 2 bonus tracks taken from 'Images Of Forever' and a new artwork that I think suits this album just perfect. Jeff Cannata released a classic album back in 1983 called ArcAngel that is filled with pure fantastic pomp/AOR filled with pure classic songs. Those that have heard the song 'Sidelines' knows who good this album is. Then in 1988 he released 'Images Of Forever' that is a great album as well but not as good as ArcAngel.

Cannata Watching The World Rarest

This album was originally released in 1993 on Now & Then Records and is one of few albums in the 90s that I hold as classic. Atenzia released his latest work called 'Tamorok' in 2002 that included new versions of old songs and a couple of new ones. So I was a bit surprised when I saw that Arise records would give this amazing album a re-release but luckily also for those that don?t have the first pressing.

This is a MUST. This is first class Pompish AOR with light progressive elements and plenty of awesome keyboards. This sounds so much like early Asia with strong hooklines, melodies and arrangements.

This is an album that don?t have any fillers just pure AOR heaven. I could easily name all the songs from the album except the short 'Ian?s Song' that used to end the album but now is followed by 2 great tracks from 'Images Of Forever' called 'Middle Of The Night' and 'Will The Sky Begin To Fall'.

Just sit back and enjoy songs like 'What About The Children', 'When It?s Love', 'The Hunter', 'Take Me Over' and 'Over The Line' that are pure exctasy and easily can be called classics. Pomp/AOR fans can thank the Spanish label Arise records for this brilliant release.
