I've tried setting the IDE controller between DMA and PIO, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling Nero, forced ASPI, closing down other programs, choosing a slower speed but with no joy. Now it will eject disks but will not recognize any discs in drive (HL-DT-ST-RW/DVD GCC. The model number is GCC-4240N. You will receive one Hitachi for Dell Driver Model GT10N. This rigorous process is conducted from inside to outside. I have the HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240N drive on my system. The drive does not recognize 800mb disks and overburn in nero also does not work.
