I purchased a book that was just released and find it very good and worth the $. 'The VueScan Bible' by Sascha Steinhoff. While VueScan is great the manual does not give you nearly as much as TVSB. There may be a workaround that someone can direct you to for your scanner.

I got VueScan because Nikon never released 64 bit drivers for their scanners. There is now a file you can load and get Nikon Scan to work. I did not know about it when I purchased VueScan. I now consider that a plus as I use the same software on my film scanner and my flat bed. Maybe you will be provided with a workaround, if not I highly suggest VueScan. I had the same problem a few years ago when I installed a new pc with Windows 7. My scanner is a Minolta Elite 5400.

After a lot of trying and searching I did find a way to make it work and even run the Minolta software that came with the scanner. Unfortunately I am not at that pc were I installed everything (and where I kept a short description on how to make it work), so I can't check right now. Will do so tomorrow and report back. But you can make a Minolta scanner work on Windows 7 x64.
